Olhuveli House Reef

Bodu Gaa

Maadhoo Muli

Maadhoo Beyru

Bodu Kandu Beyru

Located on the southeast of South Malé Atoll, this one-way dive along the outside reef offers the choice of a long or short drift, depending on the current. The dive features a gentle, steep slope where encounters with whitetip and grey reef sharks, hawksbill and large green turtles, tunas, moray eels, and Napoleon wrasse are common. The site is also ideal for macro photography.

Guraidhoo Corner

During the northeast monsoon, Guraidhoo Corner attracts a variety of large marine life due to nutrient-rich currents flowing through this protected channel. Divers can expect to see grey reef sharks, eagle rays, turtles, and barracudas, with occasional appearances of whale sharks and black mantas. This dive is recommended for advanced and nitrox-certified divers due to the strong currents and downstream "washing machine" effects. Overhangs at 20 meters host gorgonians and brittle soft corals, and schools of surgeonfish are common. The best diving period is January to February when dolphins pass through the area.

Jack Point

Mendhu Ingili

Locally known as "middle finger," Mendhu Ingili is a hidden gem with a beautiful reef away from the busy Guraidhoo Corner. The site's rich marine diversity is nourished by nutrient-filled ocean currents. Divers can encounter eagle rays, whitetip reef sharks, various small fish, oriental sweetlips, leaf fish, ghost pipefish, and giant moray eels. The optimal diving depth is between 5 and 12 meters. On sunny days with clear visibility, diving here feels like swimming inside an aquarium. Keep an eye out for stingrays resting in the small overhangs.

Banana Reef

Known for its Manta Ray cleaning and feeding zones, Banana Reef is active from late March to early November, sometimes extending into mid-December. It's one of the best spots in the atoll to dive with these majestic creatures. In addition to mantas, divers can encounter stingrays, nurse sharks, leopard sharks, and occasionally whale sharks in August. The dive features a sandy bottom with coral patches, where white tip reef sharks, nurse sharks, and leopard sharks may be seen resting. Garden moray eels also populate the sandy areas, with coral hills at around 12 meters deep.

It hosts white tip reef sharks, green turtles, Napoleon wrasse, jackfish, ribbon eels, and grey reef sharks. The channel's marine life thrives in nutrient-rich currents, with mantas visiting during the west monsoon. The slopes are often occupied by resting white tip reef sharks, while turtles graze on sponges.

Named for its abundance of large Napoleon wrasses, this dive site is ideal for a drift dive suitable for all skill levels. Divers often encounter whale sharks and mobula rays, especially during August. Marine life includes Napoleon wrasses, green and hawksbill turtles, whitetip reef sharks, and manta rays. Whitetip reef sharks frequently patrol the reef during incoming currents, while sea turtles rest near coral blocks. Occasionally, there are sightings of Mola mola, thresher sharks, or marlin.

Kandoo Kan

A popular site for beginners, Kandoo Kan offers excellent opportunities to observe big fish near the reef during a slow incoming current. Divers can see green sea turtles, grey reef sharks, white tip reef sharks, eagle rays, and stingrays. Schools of red snappers and oriental sweetlips also frequent the area. Suitable for divers of all experience levels, this site allows for easy exploration thanks to favorable current conditions.

The dive depth averages 25 meters, where large coral blocks attract oriental sweetlips and emperors. Common marine life includes green sea turtles, grey reef sharks, eagle rays, barracudas, nurse sharks, lobsters, giant trevally, and dogtooth tunas. Overhangs on the north side frequently shelter resting nurse sharks and stingrays. When the current is strong, larger fish come closer to the reef, making it a challenging but rewarding dive.

The site is renowned for encounters with eagle rays, whitetip sharks, barracudas, green turtles, grey reef sharks, and occasional tiger sharks. The pinnacle is teardrop-shaped, with a minimum depth of 13 meters and a maximum of 40 meters. The western side, known as "Jack Corner," hosts large schools of big-eyed jacks, alongside barracudas, snappers, sailfish, stingrays, groupers, and sharks. The area is filled with glassfish and anthias, attracting larger predators, while turtles and Napoleon wrasse drift along with the current near the pinnacle.

Ideal for a dive when the northeast ocean current flows into the atoll, Cocoa Corner offers a long or short drift dive experience. Early mornings may reward divers with sightings of hammerhead sharks, while white tip reef sharks, grey reef sharks, green and hawksbill turtles, and thresher sharks are common. Divers may also see tunas, marlin, and occasionally leatherback turtles. The corner’s drop-off attracts big grey reef sharks, and beyond it, vast plateaus of spiky soft corals unfold. Stingrays or a resting leopard shark are often found in the sandy patches inside the channel.
