Become a certified Decompression Diver with SSI

The SSI specialty course will teach you how to safely dive beyond the no-decompression limits. This training prepares you to plan and conduct dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters, using a single decompression cylinder and your total recreational diving system. You will also learn to use dive computers effectively, which will help you manage gas switching, gas integration, and time-to-surface. These skills will soon become second nature, allowing you to conduct dives with limited decompression confidently.

What Does the Course Involve?

This course teaches divers how to extend their underwater experiences by using advanced equipment and dive planning techniques. You will learn how to use your dive computer to monitor various features, including switching gases and calculating the necessary time-to-surface. With this training, you can explore new dive sites safely, reaching deeper locations that require more technical planning.

Training for Safe and Effective Diving

The course begins with theoretical lessons covering the fundamentals of decompression theory and dive planning. After completing these lessons, you will move on to confined water practice, focusing on buoyancy control and equipment handling. These skills will prepare you for real-world dive conditions, where managing decompression becomes essential.

Open Water Skill Development

In open water training, you will apply your theoretical and confined water knowledge. These real-world dives give you the opportunity to practice using your dive computer to manage decompression and gas switching. This hands-on experience ensures that you are fully prepared for more advanced dive sites.

Certification and Expanded Diving Opportunities

After completing the course, you will earn the SSI certification. This opens up a new range of dive sites and underwater adventures. You’ll now have the skills to dive deeper, explore larger wrecks, and enjoy stunning dive locations that require advanced planning and equipment.
